You are all aware that we have been working hard to complete the bathrooms and foyer. Sometimes we felt that it was never going to be complete, but as we pushed forward we knew that every nail driven into the wall or every tile cut to fit the next corner was one step closer to finishing.  I don’t need to tell you the results look for yourself.

Sorry we have not updated the blog in a few weeks. We have been very busy every night of the week and on Saturdays.

We are trying to make a big push to finish the bathrooms so we can get rid of the porta-bathrooms which as you know AZ is very hot so you can imagine how eager members/visitors are to get the bathrooms complete.  We have had various inspections and all have passed so we are going forward on the walls, hanging sheetrock, mudding, sanding, painting. We cannot get the bathrooms in until we finish this and the tile work so we have allot of work yet to do yet. Please continue to pray for the crew. Take a look at the photos below to see the progress we have made,  check out Jeff filling in one of the old doors!

July 22, 2009.  We had a good turnout again.  We were able to remove the old toilets/sinks, duck work, linoleum and even remove some of the concrete in preparation for running pipe for the ladies new bathroom. We also cleaned up behind the Church a bit getting ready to start digging.

I have a confession, I had a great deal of fun using the jackhammer. I was told by Justin just hold on and let it do all the work that got me thinking, it’s almost like grabbing your bible, as you use it,  you realize you don’t have to do any of the work, it does it for you. We just have to read the instructions God has blessed us with and allow the Holy Spirit to do all the work. It’s not of our own power but the power of the Holy Spirit.  Just like the jackhammer it’s not my power that is busting up that concrete it’s the power of the jackhammer doing all the work.

On July 20, 2009 we were blessed to have a great turnout to work on the Church. We were able to remove the old tile and scrape off the old goop that lives under the tile. We also were able to remove several walls. I think some guys had too much fun,  but then again can you have too much fun demolishing walls?  I believe tonight the plans are to start running pipe for the new bathrooms and work on putting some walls up as well as finish some cleaning we couldn’t complete last night because of a lack of room to haul it away. Plus God blessed us with some rain last night. It was a blessing to be working for several hours then just sit in the rain!

Continuing on with Phase I we have moved on into the Foyer. This week it’s time to remove the old tile and start laying the new tile in the foyer. We hope to be removing walls to work on the new bathrooms by the end of the week.

We will have temporary bathrooms behind the Church and apologize and ask that you be patient with us while we work on the new bathrooms.
