At First Baptist Church of Maricopa it won't take you long to discover that this is truely a family, rich in relatinoships that matter most. Growing together, we worship, we serve, we laugh, we cry, we learn, and we reach out to our world with life transforming truth. God comes into our lives in amazing ways. We want to hear what He's doing in your's.

"But I will sing of your strength, in the morning
I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress,
my refuge in times of trouble."

| "First and for most, I want to thank my Lord and Savior, it first began with phone calls to my mortgage company (Countrywide), back in September of 2008, when I saw myself getting ready to fall behind in my mortgage payments. My wife who lost her job in October of 2008, I called and tried to work out a payment plan with Countrywide, reduce my interest rate, which is at 8.25%, it seemed every time I called I kept getting, (well when your wife finds a job call us back, or you need to rent a room out in your house to bring more income in). I was at my wits end, and did not know who to turn to for guidance. My wife and I decided to go to our pastor for some guidance; he was opened to our cry for help, he understood, and did not judge us. Through the leading of the Holy Spirit, pastor called me and gave me a phone number of a gentleman who might be able to help us, who then gave me a phone number of a woman who works for HUD, who’s name is Linda Osuna who is a housing counselor. I called Linda in January 2009, and she felt our pain, and was willing to help us out, she stated for us to fax all our financial documents to her and she will fax to Countrywide, after a long journey on May 19th is when we received our package for the Make Home Affordable Plan via FedEx, we then went to see Linda to help us fill out and go over the documents. Praise God he allowed us to keep our home, our monthly payment was reduced to almost a $1000.00 a month. Thanks again to our pastor Jim Johnson for pointing us in the right direction. I also want to thank God on 06/17/09 my wife Phyllis was blessed with a job, after being unemployed for 8 long months, she will be working for Archstone Care Center in Chandler. To God be the glory!!" |
