How To Become A Member of First Baptist Church of Maricopa

The primary consideration for membership in the First Baptist Church family is what we call being saved. It involves calling out to God asking Him to forgive you of sins and inviting Jesus to come into your heart. This involves a commitment of your life to serve and follow Jesus for the rest of your life. Jesus gives to us a home in Heaven and eternal life.

1. Profession of Faith

Pray to receive Jesus as your Savior and commit your life to Him. Then publicly declare your faith in Jesus by sharing it with the church family during the invitation and follow the Lord in believer’s baptism. You will need to attend a New Member’s Class taught by the pastor or one of the elders.

2. Promise of Letter

If you are a member of a sister Southern Baptist Church and feel like God would have you plant your life and ministry here at First Baptist Church you may do so through promise of letter. You may come and present yourself for membership during the invitation on a promise of letter from your former church. You will need to attend a New Member’s Class taught by the pastor or one of the elders.

3. Statement of Faith

If you have been saved and do not remember where your last church membership is or you are coming from another denomination you may come by statement of faith and attend a New Member’s Class taught by the pastor or one of the elders. . If you are coming from another denomination that did not practice believer’s baptism by immersion, we ask that you attend a New Member’s Class taught by the pastor or one of the elders which will discussion the reason for baptism by immersion and be baptized into the fellowship of First Baptist Church.
