From Him, Through Him, and To Him: The Glory of God Alone

In Romans 11:33–36, Paul brings the great doctrinal section of Romans to its breathtaking climax with a doxology that exalts the glory, wisdom, and sovereignty of God. Having traced God’s saving purposes through sin, grace, election, mercy, and redemption, Paul does not conclude with debate or explanation, but with worship. He marvels at the unsearchable wisdom and unfathomable ways of God, affirms that no one has ever counseled God or placed Him under obligation, and declares that all things find their origin, means, and ultimate end in Him alone. This passage teaches that theology rightly understood must lead to humility, reverence, and praise, reminding believers that salvation is not man-centered but God-centered—from beginning to end. The final confession, “To Him be the glory forever. Amen,” summons every believer to bow before the sovereign God of grace and to live a life ordered around His eternal glory.
