Strong Enough to Stoop
In this study from Romans 15:1–13, Paul brings the discussion of the strong and the weak to its climax by showing that true spiritual strength is demonstrated not by demanding our liberties, but by willingly stooping to serve others in love. The strong believer is under obligation to bear the weaknesses of the weak, following the example of Christ Himself, who “did not please Himself” but willingly laid down His rights for the good of others. Paul reminds believers that the Scriptures provide the endurance, encouragement, and hope needed to sustain this kind of sacrificial living, while God’s ultimate purpose is to unite His people — strong and weak, Jew and Gentile — into one voice of worship for His glory. The message calls Christians to measure maturity not by how much freedom they exercise, but by how faithfully they use their strength to build up others, reflecting the servant-hearted love of Christ.
